We offer three (3) types of Hot Bluing. 1. Matte or Hunter Finish Hot Bluing: Bead blast with polishing marks. 2. No. 3 or Deluxe Finish Hot Bluing: Some polishing marks. (95% or #1 request) 3. The Firing Pin, L.L.C. uses an extensive process to accomplish the task of Hot Bluing. All or some of these task may be involved. * Complete dis-assembly and inspection of the weapon. * Complete cleaning of weapon. * Hand polish to 320, 400, 600 grit. * Polishing with 1-4 different grits of polish. (Depends on what type of polish job you want). * Polishing on the belt sander. (For removing severe pits from barrel). * Removal of oil and polish. * Thorough cold-water rinse. * Applying denatured alcohol. * Hot Bluing. * Thorough cold-water rinse. * Applying RIG (Rust Inhibiting Grease). *Wipe down and applying Ballistol Sportsman Oil. * Reassembly. * Functional test. * Test Fire
